33.0. "Sign-in by Signing-out..." by SOLVIT::SOULE (Pursuing Synergy...) Fri Feb 12 1993 16:55

I noticed that this version of the file does not yet have an official
     sign-in or introductions note...

I wonder if we might try something a little different from what is
considered the norm. I want you to imagine yourself attending your own
funeral. As your friends and foes pay their last respects, what are
they saying about you? What object(s) do they put in your coffin, etc?

Well, this seems kinda ghoulish, but what the hell (oooh, I should
    watch what I say). . .

I'm Jon Tanguy, a Manufacturing Engineer from Colorado Springs. I've
lived in Colorado since I was about 5 (I'm 26 now), so I hope they bury
me somewhere in the mountains. Preferably, far away from the nearest
    disk drive.

I hope as my friends pay their final respects they talk about a person
who was a reliable friend, who helped when he could, and always gave
due respect, even in disagreement. I hope they'll respect me for my
abilities as an engineer, and my ability to stay enthusiastic, even in
tough times (like today, for instance).

Someone will probably say, "That damn liberal kid should've listened
when I told him that the American family is in trouble. He should have
settle down with a wife and some kids. That would've kept him out of
    this mess."

I want to be buried with my high-tops on, in Levis with my black and
gold Univ. of Colorado sweatshirt. Maybe throw in my hunting rifle.
Oh, and better include my motorcycle helmet, just in case Laguna Seca
    really is heaven!

My friends will say, "It's about time; she certainly spent long enough
    house-hunting!"

[Um, in my spare time I am an afficionado of cemeteries - and their
contents - so this would be a very appropriate thing for them to say.
    ;-)]

Hey, I never thought of it before, but my name would fit splendidly
into one of those old-style canting epitaphs. Like, "Ashes to ashes,
dust to dust, and at long last, an end to Rust." (Or something. I'll
    have to think about it.)

I s'pose my surviving friends and family would remember my
self-reliance (sometimes to ridiculous extremes) and my sense of
humor; they might add, "We never knew what she did with her time,
exactly, but she usually seemed to be enjoying herself."

Anyway, I'm Jackie Warren and I work in the Resourcing Service Centre
in the UK. I live a sort of nomadic existance and work out of both
Winnersh (moving to REO soon) and Solent Business Park (car + boxes =
mobile office). I love to....live.....anything else you want to
    know, just ask! :-)

Here lies Steve. Introduced to this conference by his good buddy Ed
Walker, Steve has worked for Digital for 1 year. Unfortunately, he will
be TFSO'd in about 4 weeks. But nonetheless, he is a swell guy who
enjoys music, hiking, and booze. RIP dood.

I am also new to this conference, but unlike SS I will be around
for a while. Us CXO'ers are all on our way out, however. This
conference looks interesting, but also rather chaotic. I see that the
mods have shut down a number of notes.

This note has some of the makings of the Howard Sterns shows of tv and
radio. Execpt we do not talk about explice sex. Instead we talk about
men and, of course, womens issues. Where in the =wymins= notes. Mens
    issues are forbidden to discuss.

Where we parrell old Howard is when Steve starts shutting down strings
like Howard gets shut down one station at a time.;0)
