DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON HOW LONG DOES THE EX HAS TO STAY
IN THE INSURANCE (MEDICAL)? IT'S BEEN 3 YRS. I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE HER
OUT AND ADD IN MY WIFE...

Make sure it is not part of the decree. Then go to the personal office
and let them know. Done deal.:)

I thought the last go-round of Dec medical plan revisions eliminated
coverage for ex-spouses -- regardless of decrees.

Gotta check your local state laws Ed. I believe Dec runs local policies
with local laws in the game.

I RE-READ MY DIVORCE PAPERS AND IT SAIDS THAT THE INSURANCE (MEDICAL)
EX WILL BE COVER BUT IT SAYS PER STATUTE.

1 DID THE LAW CHANGE ABOUT HAVING THE EX IN MY INSURANCE?
2 DOES IT CHANGE WHEN I REMRRIED?
3 IS THERE A CUT OFF WHEN THE EX IS NOLONGER COVER?

Then find out what the wording goes for what your Digital Local Office
says per your state. If they say you cannot carry her. Then your off
the hook because the decree says 'Per Statute'. There is something
called the COBRA plan. I know of it local here in New Hampsire for I
had dropped the ex from it. Why should Digital and myself pay for
someone when we are legally not required to do?

It seems to me your best bet would be to check with your lawyer. any
opinions you might receive here, no matter how well meaning, could end
up causing you considerable grief if you base your course of action on
    them.

I agree with the advice about checking with a lawyer before making a
move. I continue to carry my ex on my coverage per our separation
agreement, in which she agreed to reimburse me for the difference
between single and family coverage. she's done that faithfully, so
in my case I don't have a problem with that. We were divorced in
Mass before the end of 1990, after which things changed, from what I've
heard. Even though I live in NH, as long as I continue to work in
Mass and continue my health coverage with Hancock, I could put my
new wife and my new stepson on my coverage, as well as my ex, if I so
chose. I was told that by Hancock, because I was divorced in Mass,
I work in Mass, and my ex lives in Mass. If I take a job in NH, or
my ex moves to another state, than I can't carry my ex on my coverage
    anymore.

My X is on my insurance as long as I remain single. If I remarry,
that will be the end of that.
