They have been a hit in Europe for two years now. I was in Germany
and Austria a few months ago and nary a single car didn't possess at least
one, usually two (for the front seats). I mean *everyone* had them. I
never used one myself but they must work if that many people buy them.
I think they first caught on big with many taxi drivers there...

| They're really big over in Asia too. Most cars in Taiwan had them (two
years ago) and many in other countries too.

They are small enough that the 'balls' themselves do not hurt.
The principal is that anything suitably 'meshy' or 'resiliant' enough
that you can place between you and the leather/upholstery, allows
air to circulate...which makes you *ever* so much more comfortable.
The 'balls' affair also adds the attraction of adhering to the
circulations theory...they can rotate, so as you shift weight, they
move, stimulating circulation....you feel better.
My husband, who spends 8-12 hours a day on the road, swears
by 'em.

| They are about 3/4 to 1 inch in diameter.
They allow better airflow between the skin and the leather/vinyl/whatever
of the seat. They stimulate the skin and muscles of the back and thighs,
which can become quite tired on a long drive.

I have them in my car and the only reason is for airflow between
the seat and my body.In summer your back is never wet of the sweat.
