423.0. "New note file for Non-Custodial-Parents" by CSC32::K_JACKSON (Better living through alchemy!) Fri Mar 09 1990 10:56

	Fellow Gentlemen,

This is just a note to let everyone know that there is a
NON_CUSTODIAL_PARENTS notes file that was created approx.
2 weeks ago. As the title indicates it's for parents
who do not have custody of their children or have been
having custodial problems. This involves men, women,
and grandparents. There are several topics available
to discuss. It should be noted that its NOT a divorce
notes file. Please feel free to join in. There are
several rules to follow, since it can be a very sensitive
	notes files.

Press KEYPAD 7 to add it to your notes file.

    Ken,

I'm sort of sad that probably won't be participating in the
PARENTING notes file. Also there is a BLENDED_FAMILIES notesfile
    which deals with step families.

I wish we could all have one big file called "FAMILIES".

423.2My reasoning...CSC32::K_JACKSONBetter living through alchemy!Sat Mar 10 1990 10:1622
   Kate,

The reasoning for this was because there is alot of frustrated
non-custodial parents/adults due to the unfairness in the laws. A
large FAMILIES conference would indeed be beneficial but what
we are trying to address in the Non-Custodial-Parents notes are
unfairness in laws, child support issues, etc. The Parenting
conference to me means dealing with every day occurances that happen
within a family like "My daughter is 16 and anxious to start driving..."
or "My son has been seeing this older woman...", etc.

Realizing todays society and the divorce rate, it would seem unfair
to have such a sensitive subject in the Parenting notes file, don't
you agree? After all we are discussing inequalities in the judicial
systems. It is also a conference where one can learn about the
various state laws from other individuals who have had to face
humiliation and bankruptcy only because THEY CARE! Feel free to
drop into it sometime. Your views would be appreciated!!
