| Odd that you mention buying leather lined shoes as a partial solution. I've
found that avoiding smooth surfaced leather upper shoes works best. No problem
with suedes or fabric (sneaks) but forget about the wingtips and loafers. (I
think the split grain "breathes" better.)

| A friend of mine had a similiar problem with his tennis shoes. He
used Baking soda when he put them on and then sprinkled baking soda
in them before retiring (sp?) them to the closet.
Avoiding the "agony of de feet"...

I'm not supprised that you have smelly feet, with the amount of crap
you put on them. It appears to me you tried everything apart from
washing them with soap and water. Try wearing sandals.

329.7 | A partial solution... | NYEM1::COHEN | aka JayCee...I LOVE the METS & #8! | Tue Mar 14 1989 08:43 | 15 |
| There's a product called "STINKY PINKYS" which are these things
that you put in your shoes after wearing them for a day and they
have charcoal insides that "clean out" those nasty odors. They
then get put in the sun for a few hours, and are ready to be used
again.
I saw these in a Lillian Vernon catalogue....and I'm sure there
is an 800 number...
Also, don't wear shoes/sneakers without socks...that seems to be
the worst culprit of smelly shoes....no need to make it worse.

329.8 | THROW SHOES OUT OF THE HOUSE | PNO::LARKINS | | Wed Mar 15 1989 12:11 | 10 |
| When my son was small his feet had that problem and what we did
was have him soak them in water with clorox and then rinse them
off real good and it worked. He did this on a nitely basis for
about 3 weeks. Now he can take off his shoes and leave them in
the house before it was TABOO for those shoes to be in the house.
I found out whenever this kid was under stress or upset about something
is when the odor was the worst other times they just stunk up the
place. Nerves can cause your feet to sweat/

| In another note in this file, I mentioned that my husband licked
a problem with underarm oder by washing his arm pits with joy
liquid dish soap. It might be worth trying on your feet.

I think this may be too much of a drastic measure but I saw this ad in
the back of a recent car mag (HOT ROD - Apr. '89, pg. 169) that you may
(or may not) want to research further.
The ad read:
STOP SWEAT FOR 6 WEEKS
DRIONIC - the heavy sweater's answer to costly and embarrassing underarm,
hand or foot sweat. Short treatment with electonic Drionic keeps these areas
dry for 6 week periods. Try doctor recommended Drionic for sweat control
unequaled by any other method. For underarms, hands or feet @ $125 each pair

| God, I've been away from this conference too long! You guys have
made me just laugh and laugh for a while tonight while I caught
up!
But this smelly feet, takes the cake. Think of the winter, when
we're all wearing boots! God, there's nothing like coming back
from a date, wanting to relax in the living room for a while and
all I can do is think "If I take off these boots this man will be
heading for the door in a flash!" :-). Oh yes, women's feet
"perspire" too!
