| Go visit a doctor, preferably an "Ear, Nose and Throat" specialist.
It's possible that there are things that can be done.

When I was about 10 years old I had my adnoid removed. This
is usually removed if you sound like you talk through your
nose. It also eliminates LOUD snoring.

| My father wears wax earplugs at night and sleeps quite soundly.
I'm sure my mother's not the type to seek any kind of "fix" for
her snoring (it's a combination of physical problems that cause
    it).

However, she has to nudge him awake when his alarm goes off.

Unfortunately, removing my ex-husband's adnoid didn't minimize his
snoring any. It still sounded like I was sleeping next to a grizzly
    bear.

| My brother has been staying overnight for a few days while
my husband is out of town. He is sleeping in my son's (4
months) room. I sleep upstairs and usually have the baby
monitor for Sam, but I haven't since my brother has been
    here.

Anyway, Sam has been waking up crying for the past few nights.
he hasn't done this in months. Each time I go down to him, Paul
is up with him already. Well, last night I left the monitor on,
and MY GOD does Paul snorr! he has been waking Sam up!

Needless to say, Sam will sleep with me upstairs tonight.

| Snoring men have been a big problem in my life, too. It seems to
be some sort of fate that I am destined to only live with men who
snore. It's a nighmare to be tossing and turning at 3 a.m., knowing
you have to be up by 6 a.m. for work, and hearing that continuous
irritating snore in your ear. My ex, also, used to snore on his
stomach. We got into many fights over his snoring. I would jab
him in the ribs until he would finally wake up in a rage. *sigh*
Re .0, it's nice that you're at least concerned about the problem.
That's unusual in it's self. Many snorers seem to take a "Tough
    Shit" attitude about their snoring.

Hears a realted story we look back on now and laugh about...
When we first got married, (11 yrs ago.) we moved to this great
apartment in Shirley. The previous occupants only lived there for
about 2 months, and abruplty left.

We didn't know why, and at the time, were not concerned. The building
was new, the landlords were wonderfull people, the apartments were
situated off a real quite country road in Shirley, and the nieghboors
were all great..... all seemed just hunky-dory..

Nice, quite, clean, country living... PERFECT !!!

Well, after a week or so, the guy accorss the hall, whom I had not
met yet as he was in the service, and off on some or other kind of
duty, had returned. He and his SO came over to introduce himself,
I did the nieghborly thing, asked them in offered beers, etc.. nice
enuff guy, and his wife was a charming person...

Well later on that evening (I remember this distinctly..) about 9:30 or
    so, we were watchin T.V.
I eventually noticed this rumbling sound comming from what appeared to
be the wall... I asked Deb if she'd heard it, she said, "now that you
mention it... what is it ?" I turned the T.V. down, and from accross
the room I could hear something that sounded, well, like snorring.....
As I got closer to the where we were sitting, it was unmistakeable.

The guy next door was snooring up a blizzard, * (sawing wood, what
ever you call,) and he was doing it in olympic fashion.. (like none
other...) We looked at each other and started to laugh, but at the
    time we wern't thinking ahead.....
(Damn it was loud enuff for me to hear this while in Our own aparment,
through the walls of at least two rooms, with the T.V. on.
so after about another week or so, we determined that we finnaly knew
what drove the former tenants out. Sometimes the snorring got so
loud that it vibrated pictures hanging on our bedroom wall, (which
    was adjacent to theirs.)
I'll say one thing for him. He snorred religously!!! Everynight,,
all night..... I was goin crazy, I think I actually wanted to kill him..
    preferably while he was sleeping

The only relief we finnaly got was moving our furniture around and
actually put up a few sound baffles on that wall. Still heard it though..

Man, THAT guy can snoor... If there was ever awards to be handed
out, he takes all of them, hands down...
So you guys who think you got bad, take a ride to Shirley Mass
somenight, around about 10 pm. Stop the car, oh about anywhere
near the town line, turn your radio off, and listen for a minute..

Hear that ? It's not a wild animal, It's not the train, and
it's actually nothign to fear at all...
        It's just Albert..
    {I often wondered if Gloria, his wife, was deaf, or just immune...}

"Many snorers take the 'Tough Sh*t' attitude"

What would you have them do? A snorer cannot control his snoring
any easier than an asthmatic can control his breathing. If there
was a cure for snoring, and the snorer refused to use it, then there
would be a case to complain. But unless medical science has had
a recent breakthrough, tolerance should be in order.

| In Europe, there's an anti-snoring product called Noron that's
       available without a prescription. It's a spray-type thing, used
very much like a nasal decongestant. It works for some, but
       certainly not all, snorers.

There is an operation that will, as a side-effect, reduce snoring
in many instances. Most responsible physicians/surgeons will
recommend against the operation, because of the risks involved
       (anesthesia, etc.)

| Just a humorous short story.

When my son was about 2-1/2 - 3 years, he told us his throat hurt
and like any parent my wife got the flashlight and started to look
down his throat. She came after me white as a sheet and told me
to look down his throat. I told her to call the doctor immediately.
The doctor told us to come to her office right away. After examing
our son she began to giggle a bit, and said " Kenny has a very large
eppigoltis, strange that it can be so easily seen, but I assure
you that he's not growing a second tongue."

| I seem to recall reading that wearing a neck brace will reduce
or eliminate snoring. Something about the angle of the neck
    altering air passage.
