    Slight rathole, but in engineering it is often considered a
    "breech of professional attitude" if you *do* wear a tie.

    As to men dressing provocatively. I don't know what kind of dress
    turns a woman on so I don't have the faintest idea what I'd wear
    to be provocative to a women. Perhaps this is a question for
    WOMANNOTES? I've heard that few men understand what women consider
    sexy in a man. I saw two lists once. One was a list of what men
    thought women found sexy in a man. The other list was what women
    actually said they found sexy in a man. There was very little
    overlap in the lists.

    I suspose that the Chippendales dress provacatively but I sure
    wouldn't feel very comfortable talking to one! :-)

    Being provocative is only in the eye of the beholder.  What I consider
    to be provocative in men's clothing, may be boring to another woman.
    
    Also, some men look great in tight jeans, and other look absolutely
    horrible.  I suppose if a man has worked hard to develop his muscles,
    he probably feels that a short sleeve t-shirt is provocative, even
    though most women would disagree.
    
    Give me a man in a great fitting navy blue suit, and *I* think that
    is provocative.  And on the other end I think a man in cut off jeans
    and work boots is extremely sexy....my opinion only.

    9 to 5....well tailored suit, white on white french cuffed shirt,
    silk tie and silk pocket square (only if he knows how to fold it)
    with fine leather shoes. 
    
    after 5  tight jeans, white shirt with rolled sleeves

    yes, a gangster-pinstripe tailored suit is nice, but in addition...
    
    white canvas pants that flatter their build.
    if they must wear a shirt, make it velour.

    My idea of a provocatively dressed male is Billy Idol (reference
    "Mony Mony" video on MTV).  Imagine a high tech company where all
    the men walk around in skin tight black leather jeans, an open
    sleeveless shirt, lots of neck chains with a huge cross on one,
    long dangling earrings, and bleached blonde, spike hair :-)!
    (Actually, you have be pretty cute to begin with to carry off that
    look!)
    
    I hate heavy metal music but I love the heavy metal *look* - Bon
    Jovi, David Lee Roth, Motley Crue - I think those young guys are
    adorable.
    
    If that look is out of the question I like the Springsteen look
    if a guy has the body for it (tight jeans and t-shirt) or if a guy
    can't pull that off, the Jerry Garcia (aging hippy?) is always nice
    and reminds of what I thought was attractive in my youth :) - long
    hair, beards, moustaches, and hippy clothes.
    
    Never really been attracted to suits.
    
    Of course, this is just what clothes are "provocative" and
    personalities are more important.  (There's nothing like a provocative
    personality!)

    	them faithfully...
    
    	Now I have to go work-out, get a blonde streak in my hair, get
    	my ear pierced with a diamond stud, find a silk tie to go
    	with my flannel shirt, decide whether or not to trim my
    	beard, and decide whether or not to wear underpants with
    	my leather pants and Kouros(sp?).

    well who is mike foley, he seems like he has the look.
    
    but for me it is TIGHT faded levis and a tee shirt, on a nice body
    and pleated pants and a nice shirt and leather coat.    
    
    the pleats are the best if the fit is right.

    RE: Several. Several of you have described Mike Foley fairly well.
    Why are you unattached Mike? Does that belong as an addendum to
    the beautiful women topic? Or a new beautiful men topic in WOMANNOTES?

i think the heavy metal look is IT too...types like Jon Bon Jovi, and 
even David Lee Roth!  I don't know what the material is that makes up 
those SKIN TIGHT pants but keep it comin...  along with open chested 
shirts, long hair or short hair with a beard and moustache!

    seriously, I think both you and Mike are nice guys, easy to
    talk to and easy to look at.

    But I also like the charcoal grey or black pin suit with silk tie
    look too....I also like leather ties with suits.  They look super.
    
    I ALSO like the flannel shirt and jeans look.....I also think men
    look great in underwear ;^) but I would hate to see that at work...;^)
    
    
    Hey....all you guys need to do is THINK you look great.  If you
    can look in the mirror and honestly say "I look great in these clothes"
    then you have it made.

    Tight jeans? Heavy metal? Leather? Gosh, what about the "Brideshead
    Revisted" look...loose white pants with pleats, white shirt open
    3 buttons, sleeves rolled up, straw hat, tennis shoes...some folks
    (namely my SO) prefer this softer look to leather. Is there any
    hope for the untailored look, or must we seem to burst from our
    contrainsts? 8^}
    
    

    I must say, after visiting "King Richard's Faire" near Cape Cod
    this weekend, I truly admire loose peasant shirts, comfortable
    knickers, tights and boots.  Well-groomed (short or long) hair.
    (Cloaks and hats add a dramatic touch, too)
    
    I think another key to looking good is feeling comfortable in what
    you're wearing.  If the shoe doesn't fit either your size or your
    style, don't wear it.

    him look more grownup (well at least 21 :-)...)
    
    Hm.. I like seeing men in nice clothes, whether they are causal
    or dress up... as long as they fit him properly is all I like, I
    hate the clothes that look like they should have been replaced
    "weights" ago...but I am a sucker for a pin-stripe suit, with a nice
    tie at work...
    
    O'course the ultimate turn on for me is seeing a man in a tux...sigh...

    I'll go along with the baggy pants, preferably with a nice pleat
    and side pockets.  A double-breasted jacket always tops the look
    nicely.

    Men that can wear a nice fedora or a panama, I find that very
    provocative.  Wear it with a rackish tilt, having one eye peering
    out... ooooo...

    you look... ;-)
    
    I'll go with the pleated baggy pants also... Anything that looks
    nice and neat. Ironing gets bonus points! No K-mart clothes... yuck!
    I lean towards the 'outdoor' look, or a little preppie [sp].
    
    How about shoes here... what do you think?
