57.0. "When is too long?" by HEFTY::SC8 (Me, Who?) Sat Jan 10 1987 20:36
I put this in womannotes, but I would like to see the mens side
of it too.
When you are in a relationship, and the man is clearly interested
in you, but can't (won't???) make a desicion to make a further
committment, how long do you stay in the committment???
If he says he loves you, but just CAN'T decide to make the relationship
a permanent one, because it scares him, what is a next step?
How long is too much "time" to decide, when do you decide to end
the relationship, or to give it more time?

57.1 | From a guy scared of a "I love you" relationship.. | DELNI::FOLEY | Rebel without a clue | Sat Jan 10 1987 22:57 | 10 |

Do you know WHY he's scared? If it's a valid reason then give
him a little longer.. If it sounds like a BS answer then start looking
elsewhere.
Personally, I wouldn't tell someone I loved them if I wasn't
able to make a commitment of some sorts...

| I really doubt that there's any universal answer for a problem
like that: it depends on the two people involved and on the
situation. The person who's bothered by the situation just
has to make her/his own judgement, tell the other about it,
and stick to the decision. That's always more or less what
Ann Landers and Dear Abby say, so I must be close to right
:-) :-)
