I have a customer who has a TKZ62 tape drive. This according to the customer is a 3490 IBM compatible tape drive. I looked in the HCL and there is no mention of it. He went into Control Panel and added a tape drive and used the diskettes that came with the unit which is labeled Tape Interchange Software V1.0. NT loaded this as a oditape.sys. When he tries to load it fails. 1) Is this tape drive capable of running under NT 3.51 or 4.0. 2) According to the SPD, 61.14 it list NT 3.51, is there a 4.0 driver anywhere for this? Thanks and confused Ed CSC NT/Backoffice

There is a new version of the TIS software going to SSB by the end of this month. We are testing right now. Contact Rich Bohn @ APACHE::BOHN for product info. In the interim: The driver in V1.0 will only recognize the TKZ60...you need to set the ID of the '62 to 60. The driver should be O.K. under 4.0...How is it failing? -Al |
