Hi, We have a customer that has ATM card 351 installed in Win NT 4.0 with service pack 3. The server is a alpha 4000. I have configured the Ip address and everything is working fine. The problem now is that a third party router that is installed and connected to this server is unable to recognise it. The reason is that they need the ATM card 351 in alpha 4000 to be configured with VPI equal to any value between 64 - 99. However, under the properties of ATM 351 card, there is no way to do it. The default value is 0. Can anyone advise how could we change the VPI value of the ATM card 351 to any value between 64 -99 ? The ATM 351 card is from Digital. Regards, Soon Heng

The 351 hardware can do VPI 0..7 at the expense of some VCI bits. In other words, you can get 1024 VCs on VPI 0 or 512 VCs on VPI 0 and 512 VCs on VPI 1 or 256 VCs on each of VPI 0,1,2 and 3 or 128 VCs on each of VPI 0,1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7 The software to set this up probably doesn't exist. Short answer: the 351 can never do VPI 64-99 ATM Questions are better answered in NOTED::ATM Steveg |
