5986.0. "IIS Problem! Ask a favor of you." by TKOEDU::ITOH () Wed May 07 1997 08:26

I have some problem on Japanese version of WNTS 4.0, IIS3.0 & SQL Server6.5.
Could someone test the following operations on English environment?
Because we don't have any english environment here in Japan and I believe
this problem didn't appear in english environment when I took a trainning
in Geneva.

- Enable Anonymous and Basic authentication in Internet Service Manager.

- Define ODBC DSN 'WEB SQL' for 'pubs' Database and call IDC from browser
like below. and confirm you can get the correct result.

	http://foo.bar.com/scripts/samples/sample.idc?

- Change NTFS file protections of all files under sample directory like below.

	system: full
	Administrators: full

- reload the same idc file from browser.

Then what happens ? I think browser should display a dialog box for
username/password. I got a query execution error which says "Query file
c:\inetpub\scripts\samples\sample.idc can't be accessed. it may not exists or
don't have priviledge to access file." on Japanese environment. Though
error message appear in Japanese actually.

B.T.W. I can get a Username/Password dialog box when I try to access htx
files on same directory. It means read access can request PIN info. to client
but execution access can't.

Thanks and best regards,
