    I've read mention of a native Alpha version of Excell and Word
    to be available end of April ..  Anyone know the status ??
    Have plans, not to have a native version of Powerpoint
    changed ??

    There's a lot of discussion on this in the FX!32 conference.
    
    Yes, the native versions of Excel 97 and Word 97 will ship soon
    (end-May?). The rest of Office 97 will be supported by FX!32 V1.2,
    which is planned for June/July. There has been requests to get 
    Outlook native (no commitments). Do you really need a native 
    Powerpoint? It has good performance after translation by FX!32.
    
    Eric Getsinger in DECwest is the product manager. 
    ntnone.zso.dec.com/languages/AlphaTools.htm has information on the MS
    desktop products for Alpha NT, including Office. I have a table of
    NT versions vs. Excel versions on \\gefiec.geo.dec.com.
