Does anyone know whether the DLT drivers for NT report deferred errors, more specifically the dlttape.sys with the NT 4.0 SP2? We have a tape which didn't report errors but lost 32KB (out of 900GB), but there were other irregularities as well. thanks, Amy Lenox [email protected] decwet::lenox

Doubtful. NT is not real good at keeping track of -any- errors. Was the drive posting hard errors, or soft errors? Regardless of deferred status, a hard error should stop it dead in its tracks. Soft errors generally get ignored by NT, deferred or not. Was it a Quantum drive, or a Digital drive? Code rev? Interface? More info would help... Chris | |||||

It was a TZ89 drive in a TL894, not sure on the rev. levels. Current problems are taken to T. Tran's group. No errors reported in event log. Microsoft needs some work to get themselves to an enterprise level operating system. |
