5951.0. "Windows Messaging Setup Wizard w/ Windows NT 4.0" by CHOWDA::GLICKMAN (writing from Newport,RI) Thu Apr 24 1997 08:42

    I have Windows NT 4.0 on my PC. There is an INBOX which I clicked on
    and got the Windows Messaging Setup Wizard. Is this Exchange or not?
    Will I have to get an Exchange client to use the Exchange 5.0 Server
    I am trying the demo of?

    Thanks.

	It's the "Windows Messaging" client. It's not the full-blown
	Exchange client. If you want to talk to an Exchange 5.0 system,
	then install the Exchange 5.0 client.

5951.2A few more questions then...CHOWDA::GLICKMANwriting from Newport,RIThu Apr 24 1997 09:3111
    Three questions then (and if I need to go into the Exchange notes
    conference I will):

    Will the Exchange 4.0 client work with the Exchange 5.0 Server?

    Can you get a demo of the Exchange 5.0 client?

    What about Outlook (from Office97) will that work with the Exchange 5.0
    server?

    Thanks.

	This is best asked in the Exchange notesfile, but I'll take
	a whack at them here.

	Exchange 4.0 client I THINK will talk to Exchange 5.0, but
	Exchange 5.0 client will definately talk to Exchange 4.0
	server. Update to Exchange 5.0 client.

	Exchange 5.0 client should be coming soon on MSDN. If you
	NEED it sooner, send mail. Sorry, I won't provide it
	corporate wide. That's CCS's job. You should enquire with
	them first tho. They may/should have copies online someplace.

	Exchange 5.0 comes with the Exchange Clients and an updated
	Outlook client called Outlook97 version 8.01. This has some
	bug fixes and enhancements to talk to Exchange server. If
	you are running Outlook97 now without talking to Exchange server,
	you should be all set. The bug fixes are only Exchange
	server 5.0 related.
