5949.0. "RAID (KZESC) PROBLEM ON PRIORIS HX590" by HGOVC::RICOWAN () Thu Apr 24 1997 05:02

    Hi,

My customer had a Prioris HX590 PC server installed with a ESIA bus RAID
    controller KZESC configured with a 4 member (RZ26-VA) RAID-0.
The PC server is running WNT SERVER 4.0 and the only disk (thus the
system disk) is the RAID 0 disk. My problem is:

When the PC is power-off and then power up again, it displays: "the channel
     0 target0, target 1,..., target3 not responding" and therefore can't
    bootup from the raid disk.

When I boot the pc with the DOS disk and then use the DACCF (the RAID
Configure Utility) utility, I find that the disk-status are "FLT"
(sometime all disks are "FLT" , sometime only some of the disks in the RAID
is/are "FLT). Then I make them "OPT" and cold-boot the PC again, it seems
to be okay. However, next time when I power-off the PC again, the same
    nightmare comes again...

In addition , I want to know if Windows NT Server V4.0 support boot
    disk on KZESC controller?

Any suggestions?? All inputs are welcome.. Thanks in advance.

    Rgds/

Run the SCU for the HX, and supply it with the .CFG file
requested. This is found on the Mylex DACCF diskette.
You'll have in the SCU the option for the EISA based \
Mylex to enable the setting "Automatic spin 2 disks per...."
	Save the config and done.

PS: For the PCI ones this is done in the DACCF utility
