5915.0. "WNT equivalent to HSZTERM ??" by FIREBL::LEEDS (From VAXinated to Alphaholic) Tue Apr 15 1997 18:23

Does NT have an equivalent to HSZTERM on Unix so that you can "set host"
to an HSZ40 or HSZ50 from an Alpha NT host to configure disks, raid sets,
etc., or do we need to connect a VT terminal to the serial port on the HSZ ?

Thanks

Arlan

There is a "Steam" Agent which runs as a service and allows communication to
the controller via a drive letter. You connect to this agent via "Storage
Works Command Console" (client). Currently, there is only an Intel client.
I've had very poor results trying to use the client on an Alpha using FX!32.
A native Alpha version of the GUI client should be available in June. The
Intel client is on the Server Works CD. The client also allows a local, direct
connect to the controller via a serial port. Of course, there is the old
RAID MANAGER which only works via the serial and doesn't support some of the
HSZ50 features. However, it does run on Alpha.
