I seem to have an odd problem with ISDN and NT V4.0. (Note, on the same
box, line, TA, etc, everything works on Windows 95).
If I'm doing something that stream data quickly (like HTTP or FTP), the
connection hangs. However, operations that are more "chatty" (like NTTP or
TELNET) do not cause a hang. The symptom of the hang is that (according to
the monitor) bytes are being sent out but nothing is coming back.
The ISDN TA is an external device (Zyxel Omni TA128) connected to a 16550
UART serial port at 115kbps. I'm only using one B channel at the monent
for a 64kpbs connection, hardware and software compression disabled.
My configuration is Pentium 120, 64MB, NT V4.0 with Service Pack 2, with
the RAS40I, KRNL40I, SERIALI, and WTCP40I hotfixes. (Note, the same
problem occurred with just the RAS40I hotfix on top of Service Pack 2).
As I said, Windows95 on the same machine works just fine. Is the solution
to reinstall NT V4.0 without any service packs? Or does this sound like
some other problem?
thanks - john
