5891.0. "strange behaviour shortcuts." by HLFS00::BERK_E (Ed Berk) Tue Apr 08 1997 13:39
I'm noticing strange behaviour of shortcuts.
There is a driveletter (P:\) mapped to the applications directory on
the server (nt3.51 sp5) via the logon script.
On the clients (nt4) the shortcuts all point to drive P:\ for launching
the applications, but sometimes a shortcut (not all) will change the
driveletter to an other one.
The application then connects with this new driveletter to the
networkshare and starts normally.
After closing the application and take a look at the shortcut: the
properties of the shortcut have the new driveletter!!
This happens on randomly clients and with randomly applications..
Any ideas ???
Servers: NT 3.51 sp5
Desktops: NT 4.0 sp1
Laptops: W95 sp1
Protocol: TCP/IP
No "quick logon" to the domain but "restore connections" is used.
Problem also occures on the windows 95 laptops.
