5866.0. "WNT 4.0 SDK ?" by ADCA01::KISHORI () Thu Apr 03 1997 03:24

    Hi,

I was trying to download WNT SDK from http://www.microsoft.com/MSDN/,
there is a wsp2sdk.exe. When I try running it I get a 'You do not have
permission to access this file'. Strange...

Does every issue of MSDN contain the WNT SDK ?? I was not able to
locate it on the October issue of MSDN.

    Any pointers ?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kishori

Re: .0

It depends what level of MSDN subscription you have.
With Level 1, you just get the MSDN Library Discs 1 & 2
- disc 2 contains the code samples for various articles
in the library. You don't get any of the SDKs.

With the Level 2 subscription you get a large A4-sized
ring binder with over 20 CDs in envelope thingies, once per
year. At least, that's what we get in Europe - it
includes the International versions of the SDKs. Then,
once per quarter, you get update CDs to place in the binder.
The current distribution includes the Win32 SDK for both
NT 3.51 and NT v4.0, the Active Platform SDK, the various
DDKs etc.

Re .0, i've been told by the MS DDK PM that the SDK has been made
available for free on the MS Home for a limited time. He was not sure
when the SDK PM would put a clamp on it. That may have come to past.
I suggest you send mail to the MS web master for help as long as the
    file is available for download.

    Hi,

Thanks for your responses, I was ultimately able to get a set of MSDN
level 2 CDs. CD 10 has the SDK.
