5849.0. "wrong kit messes up licensing, is there a fix?" by axel.zko.dec.com::FOLEY (http://axel.zko.dec.com) Wed Mar 26 1997 11:45
Hi,
A system in our group got upgraded from Windows NT 3.51 Server
to Windows NT 4.0 Server. Unfortunately, it was done with
an MSDN disk that limits the client licenses to 5 max. Would
a re-install with a valid non-MSDN Windows NT 4.0 kit fix
this problem?
We have the valid licenses, the system was just installed with
the wrong kit.
thanks,
mike

Yes, you have to reinstall NT: the license limit is hardcoded into the
MSDN kits.
