5842.0. "Useful Shareware/Freeware for Internet Roadmap CD" by TECO::tecotoo.mro.dec.com::mayer (Danny Mayer) Tue Mar 25 1997 09:18
We are looking for some useful shareware or freeware tools to highlight
for the Internet Roadmap for Windows NT. We are looking for tools that
run on both Intel and Alpha NT (and Windows 95). Some of the more useful
tools are things like Winzip, WS-FTP, QVTNT, and Polyview. However, these
tools were build for Intel only and we need some tools that were build
for both Intel and Alpha. If you can put together your top 5 list of
tools with a brief description as follows and send it to the following
Email address: [email protected] and we will collate and
review the tools.
Please follow the following general format for each tool:
Name: MVIEW Intel Binary: Yes Alpha Binary: Yes
Owner: Digital Equipment Corporation
Location:
http://roadmap.mro.dec.com/RoadmapCD/HTML/SHAREWARE/SHAREWAREINDEX.HTM#Viewers
Description:
Mview will play any MPEG file. If a WAV file of the same name with
extension .wav exists, and there is a Windows NT wave audio device and
driver on the system, and audio is enabled on the player, then Mview
will play the MPEG file synched to the audio.
Comments: Seems to be bug free. I have run it on a number of different
programs. The Alpha version really runs well.
Sending mail to [email protected] is preferable at this
point rather than responding here though I will collect all suggestions.
Danny
