5809.0. "Driver for tape device ??" by ADCA01::KISHORI () Mon Mar 17 1997 21:51
Hi,
I have installed Windows NT 4.0 on Digital Venturis which has a 4mm dat
drive (Sony SDT 5000). When I select the tape device icon in control
panel, I notice that the tape device is being recognised, but it says
driver not loaded. I tried adding the standard tape driver using the NT
CD-ROM, but I get a 'Specified location does not contain the relevant
h/w info'. I did specify the location as I386.
Have I missed out something ? Can I download this ? If so from which
location ? Any pointers would be helpful, since I need to take tape
backup immediately.
Thanks
Kishori

That's odd. I just went through the same procedure on a Venturis FX
and SONY SDT5000 yesterday. The driver automatically picked was the
4mmdat.sys driver. You should already have everything you need.

Oops ! I had forgotten to log in as an administrator. After I logged
in a as an administrator I was able to install the driver from the CD.
Foolish of me...
