I created a boot partition on D drive, so I can backup the C drive sysroot partition. When I boot, I see the selection for booting to the different disk drive, but they have the same name! ("Windows NT Server Version 4.00"). I know if I arrow down to the second one, I boot to the C drive, and the first one to the D drive. How can I change this with a something a little more descrpitive? (like "C Drive NT Server V4.0"). I already looked in Start, Control Panel, System, Startup/Shutdown properties. I can't change the wording in that box. thanks for any info ernie

On an Intel system that info is in BOOT.INI. You'll have to edit that. Note the attributes of the file so that after you change them to edit them, you can change them back. On Alpha systems, this is done in the system bios menus. (ARC or AlphaBIOS, depending on the system in question) mike |
