5791.0. "PErformance problems serving printers" by VAXSPO::ANDRE () Tue Mar 11 1997 07:11
Hi ,
My customer has a Windows-NT domain with several ALPHAs 1000 .
One of his BDCs is serving network printers to all clients .
They work with complex images printing , and sometimes they print
images with more than 250 Mb .
When they have a lot of print jobs they're having problems with
performance .
The machine has 256 MB of memory , and RAID 5 with four RZ29B-VW.
How can I minimize this problem ? Maybe if I turn this machine in
a sample server ( not a BDC ) ? Maybe upgrade to NT 4.0 ?
I forgot to mention that they're running Windows NT 3.5-1 with SP5.
thanks for any help
Andre'
