5781.0. "Trust Relationships" by BLAZER::MIKELIS (Software Partner's Eng. MR01-3/F26) Thu Mar 06 1997 12:43

I have a domain setup as LOTUS_DOMINO. I added my workstation to the domain
and created an Administrator Account. I later took my workstaion out of the
domain. However, when i try to
connect to a share on my workstation from a system in the LOTUS_DOMINO domain,
i get a message saying the trust relationship between this workstation and the
primary domain failed.

I remove my workstation from the domain and the system no longer
appears in the domain via network neighborhood, but i still get the
error msg when trying to connect from any system that is a member of the
domain.

How do i resolve this issue?

What domain does "a system in the LOTUS_DOMINO domain" where you get
the "message saying the trust relationship between this workstation and the
primary domain failed" belong to?

Any of the 12 systems in the LOTUS_DOMINO domain will give me that message
now, even though PESTO is no longer part of the domain. I figured that once i
removed it from the PDC, i would be able to access it again but no luck.

"this workstation" refers to PESTO, my office ws running NT Server, which i
added to the Domain for no good reason other than to see if i could. The
"primary domain"refers to LOTUS_DOMINO domain.

5781.3You're only half gone from the domainCSC32::K_MEADOWSSat Mar 08 1997 05:286
    ControlPanel/Network - put your system into a WORKGROUP - this will
    remove the domain-membership information from your SAM. Do this even
    when you need to go back into the same domain after deleting your
    computer account and creating a new one.

    You get this error if your computer account has disappeared from
    the domain that your computer is in. You have to move your computer
    to another domain.

    I noticed Pesto was part of the DIGITAL1 domain for browsing. Since
    the machines that are in that domain are only the Domain Controllers for
    Digital1.. you would have to put it in one fo the resurce domains for
    Digital1 (DigitalwsXXX1 - where XXX is your site).

    So you need to create an acount in one of those domains, and then move
    your machine to that domain. Then all should be fine with your system.
