    Hello!
Is there any online document available for digital Internal users
    on wondows NT internals?

Or should we buy it from Microsoft press?

5759.1Good luck finding someDECWET::MVBMonty VanderBiltThu Mar 06 1997 07:086
There is precious little documentation on NT internals period. "Inside
Windows NT" is the best so far and that's not saying much. There is a
second edition in the works that will go into more detail but it won't
be out very soon. Programming books like Richter's "Advanced Windows
NT" give some more good clues. Microsoft Systems Journal occasionally
has good NT articles but it's mostly GUI/VB/OLE stuff.

As .1 has said, there is very little NT internals information available from
MicroSoft. However, this web site has some semi-useful pointers :-

		http://www.ntinternals.com/

The maintainers of this web site are writing a book on this very subject and
it's due to be published in June of this year, publisher will be IDG, I
believe. But, since it won't necessarily have Bill's seal of approval, the
contents may not be 100% accurate ...

A useful book is "The Windows-NT Device Driver book: A guide for Programmers",
which goes into how the NT I/O sub-system works before starting to talk about
device drivers.

Also, "Windows Developers Journal" has had some useful articles on NT in
it in the past. Same can be said for "Dr Dobbs Journal".

Another web site with useful articles:

www.winntmag.com (you might need to try a hyphen in there somewhere)

    Jon.

Also www.bhs.com (not British Home Stores!!)

David Solomon (an ex-DECcie) is writing the next edition of the
'official' Windows NT Internals book. Don't know when it'll be out
    though.

Just found the course notes for a course entitled "Microsoft Windows NT
Operating System Internals" in the Learning Utility web pages whose
URL is :-

	http://www-mcslu.reo.dec.com/mcsl/mcslhome.html

Just look in the alphabetic listing under "M" ...

Lots of other goodies in there as well ...

Enjoy ...
