| Can you give us any more configuration info (FW and HW numbers, versions, rev
levels, etc) and where you were in the install process whne it breaks? I infer
from your note that you were in the graphics portion of the install - probably
where the Install Wizard allows you to pick or sense the adapter card.
I installed NT4.0 on ten 4100s slated for NT Wizards this past week. Three of
them had DE500s (I never bothered to check their rev level though). No
problems were encountered.
There are three different versions of the DE500, the -AA, -XA, and -BA. The
"offically supported matrix is:
+------------+-----------+
| NT3.51 | NT4.0 |
+----------+------------+-----------+
| DE500-AA | yes | yes |
+----------+------------+-----------+
| DE500-BA | no | no |
+----------+------------+-----------+
| DE500-XA | yes | yes |
+----------+------------+-----------+
In the short term I would recommend installing NT without a network. You can
then go back and install the network with the latest released/beta version
of the DE500 of your choice. The drivers are available via decnet or WWW from:
KALI::PCDRIVERS:[ETHERNET.DE500.RELEASE]
ftp://ftp.digital.com/pub/DEC/adapters/ethernet/de500/release/
While I am not aware of any KZPSC/DE500 interactions you could try putting
one of the options in PCI_0 and the other in PCI_1.
