I have some questions regarding trust relationships and how to setup
accounts/groups to make use of them.
The situation is I have a domain consisting of a single system, the
PDC. This domain trusts another domain and I have sucessfully setup
that trust. I do NOT have administrative rights in the trusted domain,
just in my local resource domain. Now I want to add some users from the
trusted domain to a local group so I can grant them access to a
resource.
I enter User Manager for Domains and I see my local users and groups
but no the ones from the trusted domain. I can create a new local group
but it only shows local users as being available to add to it. I then
do a "select domain" from the file menu and enter in the trusted
domain. After a pause (it's a big user database) it lists the users and
groups in the trusted domain but if I double click on anything it comes
back with can't access properties - access denied. I'm sure this is
because I don't have admin privs in the trusted domain. So now I'm
stuck.
How do I do this?
Thanks,
Ray

Hi,
You must first have a global group created in the trusted domain
by that domain's admin. He/she should add the users from the
trusted/master domain into the global group. Then you can add the global
group to the local group(s) in your trusting domain.
good luck,
