Internet Explorer 3.01 for Windows NT/Alpha is now available in the Released Kits area of the Software Distribution Server at URL: http://ibgzko.zko.dec.com/sdk/ It was actually made available on November 22, 1996, except that noone told me about it. The Java VM addon that is available for IE 3.01 for both Intel and Alpha can then be downloaded from Microsoft's Site. I found out that you can't download them without running IE 3.01 to do the download. Nice! ;-( Danny

5734.1 | Derived Alpha Method from Intel Code? | TROOA::BROWN | RPC - Really Practical Computing | Thu Mar 13 1997 15:03 | 15 |
Customer problem: Using this version, which still shows up as IE 3.0 (4.70 1216) on an Alpha Multia (NT4.0 SP2) gets the following error: (it seems to only show up when displaying www.digital.com and www.altavista.digital.com) "Can't use Derived Alpha Method from Intel Code" with the error code "lDispatch:7" Any thoughts? I couldn't see anything in the knowledge base. Is someone at DECwest working alpha versions of IE? Should I post this elsewhere? thanks for any help, -ian | |||||

Make sure he's running Alpha-native IE 3.01 browser. I just tried www.digital.com, it works fine for me. Ditto www.altavista.digital.com. Danny |
