5727.0. "MYLEX RAID-5 Disk Drive -- File corrupted...why?" by GIAMEM::LAI (OGOPW::LAI (Jimmy) DTN:276-9709 M/S:OGO-1/L17 (PSG)) Thu Feb 20 1997 08:24
Hi,
I need help on Mylex RAID-5 drive running on WIN-NT 4.0 SP1 .
What happens is that the drive F: with 4x4GB disks configured
as RAID-5 has been running into 'file corruption' conditions
from time to time. It begins to happen when there are *many*
files in the disk.
(This happened before we upgraded to NT 4.0! So NT 4.0 does
not seem to know/fix the problem. )
Is there a limit on number of files in a drive in NT? If so,
what is the limit and what limits it? Can it be resolved ?
FYI: All other drives (C,D,E) with 3*2GB are also configured
as RAID-5 too and they are running fine. No problem at
all.
So, what happens to the RAID-5 drive F: ?
Can someone please shed some lights on this?
Thanks and regards,
/Jimmy
