Hi...
I am trying to determine how to monitor network 'problems' on a Windows NT
Server.
I am interested in error rates and congestion on the network interfaces which
connect the server to the network.
Looking at Performance MOnitor, the 'Output Queue Length' associated with the
Network Interface Object looked rather useful, until I see that this value
will always by zero due to the use of NDIS.
The Packets received errors / Packets outbound errors look useful but I am
trying to generate alerts passed on rates not absolute values.
The %Network Utilization attribute associated with the Network Segment Object
(obtained by installing the Network Monitor tool looks as though it might help
with overall utilisation but nothing to do with errors.
Has anyone any views / experience on addressing this requirement?
Rgds,
Graham
