We have a customer who has an A2100 running NT V3.51 with SP5. His problem is with a TZ88 that generally works perfectly however if the cartridge installed is write protected the drive will not work at all even reading it fails withe the usual informative message of hard error on device. It would appear that NT does not like the mode page setup for this device when write protected. Has anybody else seen this or do we have unique problem? Keith

I recently saw this problem on several A2100's with TZ87, TZ88 and TZ887 tapes. Chris | |||||

The write protect problem for DLT drives on NT 3.51 is known, documented, and was fixed. Your only solution on NT 3.51 is "don't use the write protect switch". Steve P. |
