5690.0. "Windows NT equivalent for SHOW DEVICE/FILES?" by AZTECH::SANBORN () Wed Feb 12 1997 11:44

    Sometimes when I try to delete a file, I get an error:

    "Can not delete file.ext: There has been a sharing violation.

    Source or Destination file may be in use"

    O.K. I can buy that. The problem is, how do you find out which process
    is using the file? Is there an Windows NT equivalent to the VMS
    command: SHOW DEVICE/FILES?

    Thanks,
    Dave S.

    I think running the Server tool in control panel will also show
    some information on files in use on file shares. Or was it just
    shares in use?... I forget.

    re .2: I think it only shows network resources in use (shares, pipes,
    ...).
