5670.0. "NT RAS X.28 connectivity ..." by HGOVC::XFMV01::KETAN () Mon Feb 10 1997 21:42
Hi,
I am facing problems connecting two WinNT 3.51 servers over RAS using
dialup X.28 lines for a customer. I need to run PPP (TCP/IP, NetBEUI) over
the established connection to make MS Exchange Servers running on the two
machines talk to each other.
The RAS at both the ends have been configured with "null modem" to connect
to X.28 equipment, these being one of the following : Micro Earth Station
connected to a VSAT dish antenna, PAD or X.28 modem; the output of all three
is X.28 through RS232 ports. The X.121 address of the RAS server is being
dialed manually at the client end. The connection is established as per the
messages received at the dialing end, but the RAS server at the receiving
end of the call registers "hardware failure" and "line non-operational"
status on the connected port, and the connection is dropped.
Am I missing out on something; not doing this the right way?
Is there any other way of doing this?
Any pointers on this would be of great help.
Thanks and regards,
Ketan
