Hi,
I am experiencing problems with an NT3.51 Workstation client accessing a File
Service on an Ultrix 4.3a / PW4.1 - server.
Everytime when a document is opened or saved there are several log entries
in the eventlogger:
source: Rdr Categ. None Event: 3005 User: N/A Desc.: The redirector receive
an incorrectly formatted response from (servername). Type: Warning
I saw this only with Word / Excel applications. When i copied the documents with
the file manager, there are no problems.
Most of the time there are just event entries but no user impacts. But once or
twice a day there are also application hangs while trying to save a document on
the Ultrix file service.
I took an Iris trace while saving a Word document.
You can see quite a numer of the following entries during the storing of a
file.
... PCSERVER <-- NTCLIENT smb c Write F=0066 Cnt=0 Off=1536
... NTCLIENT <-- PCSERVER smb Frame too short
any idea what the cause could be?
