5650.0. "Print job won't go away" by IAGO::tay1dhcp112-119.tay1.dec.com::CUMMINGS (Relax, have a homebrew!) Fri Feb 07 1997 05:13

I'm running NT 4.0 on a Celebris 6200.  I had
a print job that got into a loop where it would
constantly requeue itself and then fail. I had
to reboot my system to get this to stop, but
now every time I reboot I get prompted to requeue
the job or cancel it. How can I get rid of this
message at boot time?

    the .SHD and .SPL files are still in the spooler directory. stop the
    spooler (CP/Services), delete them and restart the spooler.

I have had the same problem occur. Always occurs on my parallel port to
a postscript printer 1152. I pause the printer, the cancel the job.
Of course future jobs do not queue and get into the same problem...
Really is a pain.

    ran into this one day when the printer had the "print text as graphics"
    option enabled. Maybe follow the "job Defaults" and see if you can
    find that.

    another reason could be that the NT setting for printer memory is
    larger than the printer actually has. again, I don't remember the
    exact path to get that info.

    let us know!
