    __0fidx.ffl
    __0fidxt.ffl

    This is want I did:

    I have a Windows NT 4.0 (FAT). I installed a second
hard drive (D:) This drive came from another PC which
was the (C: operating system, etc).

I can no longer see some files and directories on the
d:\ drive instead I see the files above on D:\ with
the date I installed my drive.

Any idea what happened ? Can I recover from the files above ?

   Thank you!

Those are the index files to assist Microsoft Office in locating
"Office Documents". They are generated when Office is installed (and
perhaps at later times too, haven't played with it much). I doubt they
are the source of your problem.

    Hello,

I still want to believe that the Office 95 I installed on
Windows NT 4.0 toasted the data on my 2nd IDE drive. This second
ide drive was pulled from a win 3.1 system and left intact so
    I could access old data.

Does anyone know if I uninstall Office 95 if it will undo the
    idx files ?

    Thank you.
