Somehow, someone created a folder called "New folder" in a "public"
NT area. For some reason, even ADMIN can't get to the file to do
anything with it, nor can they even determine the rightful owner.
This is a bad thing, because any time you try and create a folder
it gives it the default name of "New folder" until you change it,
and we get an "access denied" error when attempting same.
So, how did this happen, and how can it be fixed?
Thanks for any info.

He said he couldn't.
More info ... the public area is the place where all of the Exchange
.PST and .PAB files are kept. "New folder" was used in place of a
digital1 username.
CS/IT seems to think that a user created a folder from Exchange in
order to set up a place for .PST and .PAB files, and was possibly
still connected to Exchange and therefore had the file "locked".
I guess they brought the system down and back up, and the connect-
ion was severed, therefore allowing ADMIN to take ownership and/or
delete the folder.
