I work in the Houston office and I can honestly say that it's been
months since I've really been into the NOTESfiles.....the morale
is extremely bad here - our facility was hit very hard as far
as the TSFO - we lost alot of people last go around and due to the
loss - those of us left are having to take on almost the triple
the load.

I remember the times that I could afford to be flexible with my time,
if I worked hard I found I had time left to develop and socialise with
my colleagues. Going to work was an enjoyable experience, I'm sad to
say that is no more.

| There's a combination of factors. One is that those of us who are left have
more work to do and less time to do it, leaving not much time for "frivolous"
activities such as notes. Also, there are some who are afraid that their
spending time in notes would be considered "non-productive" by their management
and they are trying to avoid being the next TFSO casualty. And third, indeed,
is that morale is down and even those who feel relatively secure in their
jobs aren't as cheerful as they used to be. Some of this results in less
noting, but it also results in more angry noting and an increase in stress
for moderators. I saw more of this in HR/MENNOTES last year, am still seeing
it in DIGITAL.

company going down the pan, which was referred to in an earlier note!

| I realize that some of the last few replies were in jest.
However. Consider, here we have someone who is obviously NEW to
noting. Also struggling with the English language.
And you've successfully taken some rather cheap shots at his expense
when he's trying to express an opinion. Instead of the cheap shots,
snickers, and smiley faces... why not send him mail next time and
explain the problem?
And consider this, taking a cheap shot at a new commer is a GREAT way
to get notes in general and this conference imparticular "lively"
again.
