1239.0. "Live-in nanny" by STAR::MANNIX () Mon Feb 24 1992 11:03

    Hi,

I have a sister who may be going into the hospital for a bone
marrow transplant. It's expected that she may be in the hospital
for 3 months or more. She has two kids (4 and 8) that need
looking after. My brother-in-law would like to get a nanny who
can move into their home in relatively short notice and take over
with the kids for whatever long it takes for my sister to recover.
How does one go about finding a reputable nanny? Is there a notes
file that might be more appropriate to ask this question?

    Frank

Look in the phone book under Childcare. They have nanny agencies
that have already screened all of the nannies that work for them.
You may be able to find someone through them.

Screen as many as you can, make sure they are super sincere and love
    children. Good Luck!!!

    Hi

We have had a live in nanny for several years and it has worked out
fine. In your case, you may want to see if you have some insurance
clause that will help off load the expense.

Getting a nanny "quickly" is hard to do...you may want to check
with your your Senators office to see what kind of nanny exhange
program are available. The US Government sponsors a program of
    	this kind.

Nannys can be an incredible help. If you've never had one before,
you will be in for an interesting experience.

    	Best of luck..
