1233.0. "Lawyer referral needed." by FSOA::BERICSON (MRO1-1/L87 DTN 297-3200) Fri Jan 31 1992 15:06

Is this the right conference to ask for Lawyer referrals in Middlesex
county? Basic divorce stuff. There are so many snakes in the pit I
would like to find an hourly counselor (not % of take). Any good
    experience out there?

You might try NOTED::MASSACHUSETTS (I assume that's where the
Middlesex county you refer to is.)

I've never heard of a lawyer charging on a percentage basis for
a divorce settlement. Expect rates of $90-$125 per hour.

Check with the American Bar Association. They can recommend somone and
let you know if they have a good reputation. Also ask for references
and check them carefully. There will also be a local bar assoc. you
    can contact to double check.

Set up INTERVIEWS with a few candidates for your business, so that you
can make a fully-informed decision. Do this even with personnal
referrals. This person will be handling a situation which is very
important to YOU, so make sure YOU feel comfortable.

Many lawyers have good parlor/office salesman ship. To avoid being sold
a bad bill of goods. Check around. You will find someone will
eventually tell you what are the odds based on everything being equal
    and fair.

Everyone knows that its is not if your right or wrong. Its
presentation. How much your attorney know or doesn't know the subject
matter. Try to have all the suporting evidence before you show up to
    his/her door.

    Good Luck.
