In VNS news this morning I read;
MORE BRITISH WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARRIVE HOME: [...] Most were
reluctant to talk for fear of what might happen to those left
behind. But one, [...] aged 18, said she had eventually
given away her father's hiding place after the Iraqis
threatened to prevent her from leaving. She took them to the
address where he was staying and they took him away.
Geez, what a thing to have to go through. I feel for this poor
girl. How will she deal with this, if anything happens to her
father. I also feel for her father. Being held hostage is bad
enough, but to be caught like this. How do you put your family
back together after this?

A LOT will depend on how they relate to each other. How close they
are/were. I would imagine, that the father will be a lot quicker
to forgive his daughter then the daughter will be to forgive herself.
If he (the father) has had any military experience he will be aware
of the things that can happen under "torture" and "fear". The movies
always show the hero being tortured, close to death, but never giving
away any information. Reality isn't always the same as the movies.
A scary situation.
