1053.1 | What's *your* idea of fun? | NETMAN::HUTCHINS | Did someone say ICE CREAM? | Mon Aug 06 1990 14:26 | 11 |
| What do you consider "fun"? Amusement parks? Mountain Climbing?
Cycling? Hunting? Fishing? Playing Scrabble? Ballroom dancing?
Whereabouts do you live?
If you're in the Boston area, the Thursday "Globe" has a calendar
section that lists quite a range of activities, and even has a column
on inexpensive activities.

| I live in Worcester Country, but Fiance lives in Framingham.
At least during the summer and fall seasons I would like
to outdoor things. I don't have a bike. Mountain climbing
is an option. Neither of us having hunting or fishing equipment.
Board games are a good idea... Not much into Ballroom dancing.
I will check out the Thursday Globe.
Thanks

1053.3 | NH's State Parks | WILKIE::SOULE | Pursuing Synergy... | Mon Aug 06 1990 15:32 | 5 |
| You may want to try NH's State Parks. For $2.50 a person on weekends
you can spend the day at a clean lake (children under 12 are free).
Take a picnic lunch or bring your own charcoal (most parks have grills
you can use). Get there when they open so you can grab the best table!
Have fun...

This past Sunday I ventured up to Wachusett reservoir with my
"friend". It was a beautiful day out and we just hung around.
Next time I'll most definitely fix a picnic basket, take a blanket
and bum around for the day!
What about playing a game of frisbee in the park...For day-trips
hiking, bike-riding, window-shopping in some of the neat/off the
wall towns along the coast.
With the weather as beautiful as it has been, virtually anything
"outside" is great.
And during the winter, cross-country skiing is fairly cheap isn't it
at least after the initial investment into skis.

1053.6 | Use your imagination | SVCRUS::CRANE | | Thu Aug 09 1990 17:37 | 16 |

My wife and I are always out finding new neighborhoods and going
house gazing. We get a lot of ideas for our own house that way.
we like to take little Allison out for walks in the stroller.
Tennis is an inexpensive activity because most courts are free and
you can buy an adaquate raquet for $30. There is the occasional
trip to the mall for window shopping and the free shows that a lot
of malls offer. We love to head into boston for quincy market and
watch the people and then walk over to the N.E. Aquarium and along
the coast to the Constitution. If I thought some more I could probably
come up with some more. Use your imagination. Wander around and
see what you find in state parks and places like that.
