| I would call your EPA rep or the Dept. of Social Services for starters.
I would think they could direct you. Good luck--that experience must
be horrible for parents to go through. Between the drugs, alcohol
problems, sex, Aids, cults, suicide, etc., I constantly ask myself
what is this world coming too?!!!!

Might I hazard a guess that you're suggesting that Dawn-Marie
call her EAP representative. (As useful as they may be,
I doubt the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) would be
much help) :-)

| I remember an article in "Worcester" Magazine about 6 months ago
dealing with this. Don't have the issue any more, but you might call
them - I'm pretty sure they mentioned organizations like what you're
looking for. Their number (from the '88-89 book): 508-799-0511... I
just tried it and the person who answered was new on the job, and the
editorial staff was unavailable at the moment. She suggested we call

| I still might have the copy of that "Worcester Magazine". I will
check at home and bring it in and send it via interoffice mail.

1. someone has gotten involved in a cult
2. you care to tell us something that is none of our business... :-)

| My sister got into a "cult" 7 or 8 years ago. It was a Christian Cult
which changed her completely. But she is now happy, and feels she is
doing what God intended, and although at first our family had
misgivings, we are now fairly comfortable with her decision (except
when she tries to convert us, of course....). She doesn't spend a
whole lot of time with the family, or with anyone outside the church,
but she knows we love her, and we know she loves us, and that's about
the size of things....is this the kind of "cult" you're talking about -
or are you talking an Indian-mystic or pagan or evil "cult" (all
different things, and I do not quantify any as good or bad, I merely
mention them because popular vernacular has mentioned those as
frequently encountered types of "cults").
Also, please be VERY careful of the "deprogrammers" - they may charge
you a great deal of money and use some pretty scary tactics to
"deprogram" a person if you somehow feel they have been
brainwashed.....
