| Jill,
Thanks for posting that. I'm a devoted "mother" to a dog
and two cats and reading the article gave me a huge lump in
my throat.
Thanks again,
Cherie

| I can't think of any truer love than a dog has for his human. My 13
(almost 14) year old dalmation Joe is one of my best friends. He always
loves me and would be at my side 24 hours a day if he could. As I watch
him grow old and see the cataracts cloud his eyes I feel already how
much I'll miss him when he's gone. I have another dog who is younger
but Joe was that "special" one who can never be replaced. He'll be in
my heart forever.
I can't imagine living without my animals (2 dogs, 1 cat and 1 horse)
and feel sorry for all the kids that have never known the kind of
unconditional love they can give. The humane society in our town has a
program where they bring puppies and kittens to old folks homes for
visits and it has made many formerly uncommunicative patients open up
and start enjoying life again. liesl

Dogs (IMHO) are the only "house-mate" I'll ever have again!!
If I had the room (and landlords permission) I'd have 100 of
em.

Gee, I can't believe how sensitive I've become to things like this
since I became a dog owner--it was all I could do to keep from
crying right here in my office when I read that!!
It's so true ... we had dogs as pets when I was a kid, but now that
I have my own, a little life that I am solely responsible for, I
have a much stronger attachment to him.
He's four solid pounds of fun and unconditional love. :-)

| I feel so sad to see so many kids abandoned or going from foster home
to foster home... many of those kids would LOVE to be treated as dogs
are treated in these notes... mind you, I am a dog owner and a dog
lover but above all, I love human beings and hate to see misery...

So what are you saying? How does your note relate to the base note?

Since I am separated from my husband, don't attend church, and work
full time I would not be *allowed* to take a foster child or an
abandonded child. Since I have no children of my own I might consider
it but I am a pariah in the view of adoption agencies and social
service organizations. Pets are all I'm allowed unless I grow my own.
