I am not sure what you mean by 'Human Resource Development". If
you are refering to your own position, you may wish to contact
the Digital Career Development Center (DTN 297-4895, located at
MRO3-1/G18, node CHEAPR::CDC).

I am referring to any programs that allow individuals to become
Human Resource professionals. I am looking for something similar
to the Marketing Development program which provides a broad exposure
    to many aspects of marketing.

    Again thanks for any info.

	Hey Drew! How are ya?

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but you might try
someone over in VRO (Concord) in the Digital Information Systems area. There's
a listing for the Human Resource Manager - VRO3-2, DTN 273-5466. I used to
have a friend who worked in that group, though I'm not sure they have any
specific training programs. You'd have to call to check it out!

	Good luck!

If my information is current, there is no such program yet in
DEC (in the same sense as Finance Dvlp Program, Network Training
Program, etc.) HR planning and development is a relatively
new activity in this company (around 5 yrs. or so) and many
places are just getting started. I'm pleased to say that
my own plant has a well-defined process, and individual development
plans for all employees is a management measurement. However I
suspect we're the exception rather than the rule (at least in
the Manufacturing and Engineering neck of the woods).

I think that because it's such a new discipline in DEC, it opens
some opportunities - I, for example, had no formal HR training
or schooling, didn't even have a Personnel background (I come
from Mfg. Materials), but a lot of the skills I had were trans-
ferable. For the moment at least, I think things like degree
"requirements" will be less important than other qualifications.
