| Jane,
I'm getting married on Nov. 6th of this year...and I can sympathize
with you on this subject. I haven't been able to find a band under
$1000.00.
You can get a D.J. for about $500.00. I haven't found any prices
under that.

| Hi Jane,
I'm a pianist-vocalist who plays a mixture of musical styles.
A little country, blues, easy listening, oldies, 50s rock and roll
and I've done many, many weddings. If the hall has either a spinet-
style piano or a grand-style piano, I'd be glad to have you call
me to ask questions. I'm at DTN-264-6660.
Regards,
Susan

| Jane,
I have a good friend who plays 50's and 60's rock and roll. He's
really very good - plays a 12-string guitar that he manages to make
sound like it's a whole band. And, he'd be MUCH less expensive than
a D.J. If you're interested in more info, call me at DTN 251-1214.

I would like to second (third etc..) the vote for a DJ. We had
one at our wedding (last Oct.) and it was a really good time. DJ's
are less expensive, in most cases, than live entertainment, and
one of the benefits is that, the song you hear on the radio is the
SAME as what you get at your wedding. Many people say that they
prefer live entertainment, but two comments you hear about bands
is, how poorly they play your favorite songs, and how loud they
are. Enough said...

-<DJ>-
I agree with the vote for the DJ. I am getting married in March
and my fiance and I are going with a DJ rather than a band. The
price was good, and a even more somewhat sentimental reason is
that we met at a dance that the DJ we are having played at. He
has a very wide range of music and we know that songs to suit
all will be played.
I wish you all the best with your wedding and your plans!

Want to do it low-budget and a good time? Get the DJ and have
it in a big back yard. That's what my sister did 2 years ago
(In Billerica! Where his parents and my Mom live right next to each
other).. It was the best and most fun wedding I've ever been too.
And I've been to alot in a the past few years! (All my friends taking
the plunge!)

Check out the MUSIC NOTESFILE DREGGS::MUSIC I believe..
You can probably find one on there,,if not you can find a
DJ. Just make sure,If you do get a Dj you talk about the
arrangements on what songs you want..Last week I was the Best
Man at my friends. And that Dj was terrible..
GOOD LUCK
