About getting married and charging a car. Who would perform the
cerimony? Who would fill out the bill of sale on the car? I do
not beleive that, when posed the question in .0, that a member of
the clergy would say "I would perform a marrage cerimony", nor that
a car salesman would say "I'd like to get in ONE more sale!".

Me? I'd steal the car and shack up with a girl(s), preferably at
    the party!!!!

day. Make a return trip after the fire works and give another party.

    I wouldn't think about a car, money, etc., because I wouldn't have
any place to go, or any place to spend money. Heck with a dozen
girls or so, why would I need to go any place.

| | Having read enough science fiction stories with this plot, I'd make
sure I didn't do anything I'd regret if in fact the world did NOT
    end at midnight.

One story I recall (which I saw as a TV episode, probably "Outer
Limits" or something like that, had the end of the world coming, and
everyone decided that it would be best to not put the children through
the misery of whatever it was, so they gave every child some drug that
made them die in their sleep. You guessed it - morning came, the world
was still there, but all the children were gone.

The movie was "The Illustrated Man" based on the book of the same

them going to bed. Kinda ruined the story by showing the next morning
    if you ask me.

| | since all shopkeepers would probably have flown the coop, I'd
appropriate myself a damn good feast - cheesecake, brie & french
bread, Asti Spumante, and the fixin's for homemade tollhouse cookies.

no particular order here, but I'd try to make sure to:
watch the sunset and sunrise, bask in the stars and moonlight
make love with a boyfriend (if I could find him)
or with someone I'd always wanted to (if I couldn't)
put on the prettiest, sexiest dress I could find (beg, borrow, or
steal) and dance in the streets
    hug almost everybody
build a bonfire on the highest hill and sit around it with my friends,
just sharing the last few splendid, affirming hours
    set off fireworks
get a hold of a VCR and watch Raiders of the Lost Ark one last time

| | If I were the only one who knew I'd call my wife and have her
come home from work. I'd pick up my son and we'd all go to the
park or something and have wonderful things to eat and drink. We'd
probably put our son to bed at his usual time, then we'd spend the
    evening together.

If everyone knew I doubt that my wife and I would ever get another
chance to even speak to each other. The phone lines would be jammed,
and the roads would be impossible. Men with power fantasies would
probably be roaming the streets getting everything they could attacking
women they find desireable and and killing anyone who got in their
way. I'd probably try to make it to where my son goes to preschool
(1 mile away). If that seemed impossible (the world was already
too insane I'd stay here and help protect the people I work with
    if necessary.

Your reply is kind of how I reacted to the note. I would want to

First I would cook up one h*ll of a meal for me and my fiance, then
all the wonderful table scraps (of filet mignon, baked lobster stuffed
with crabmeat.....etc.....and STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE for dessert)
to our two cats and dog. I wouldn't have to worry about them getting
worms from all that good stuff and I wouldn't have to worry about
ME getting fat from all that good stuff! Would it really matter?

Then I'd call Mom, and talk for hours. She lives in MA and I live
