Welcome to THE_SEXES conference.  Topics discussed here cover just about
anything related to men and women and how we interact with each other.  Some
popular subjects are love, divorce, turn-ons and turn-offs, taboos,
embarrassment, and relationships - but feel free to talk about anything you
like... 

While we'd prefer the discussion to be as uninhibited as possible, we know from
past experience that if "anything goes", one thing will be sure to go - this
conference.  Thus we ask that you, as a mature adult, to refrain from entering
notes which you think would be extremely upsetting to Digital management.  For
example, "four-letter words" and explicit description of sexual practices are
rarely necessary in order to get your point across. 

If you are ever in doubt as to the suitability of something you'd like to enter,
please consult one of the conference moderators by mail before entering the
note.  We promise a quick response to all inquiries. 

Likewise, as a mature adult, we ask that you be tolerant of other people's way
of expressing their thoughts and be sensitive to the feelings of others.  If you
object to an entry, please send mail to the author and discuss the topic
off-line.  Only if you can't resolve the matter to your mutual satisfaction
should you consult a moderator.  If you are easily offended by material related
to human emotions and the expression thereof, perhaps this conference is not for
you. 

Most conferences have rules, and this one is no exception.  Our rules are not
meant to inhibit people, but are intended to allow this conference to be the
most useful to the widest possible audience within Digital without posing an
undue risk to the file's existance, the moderators or the contributors.  In that
spirit, please observe the following: 

If you object to any contribution, please contact the author by MAIL.  (Using
the command SEND/AUTHOR will usually do what you need.)  Only if you cannot
resolve the matter to your mutual satisfaction should you contact a moderator. 


Personal attacks in notes are a no-no.  If you want to flame at someone, use
MAIL. 

Please take the time to learn the elementary NOTES commands needed for proper
noting etiquette.  Use REPLY when you want to add a comment to an existing entry
rather than WRITE.  If you enter a note that you want to move or modify, DELETE
it and then use REPLY/LAST or WRITE/LAST as is appropriate. Moderators reserve
the right to move entries when they are obviously misplaced.  Please use mixed
upper and lower case when writing notes.  If you have questions about using the
NOTES utility itself, ask a friend or a moderator, don't enter a note about it.

I would like to explictly expand the purpose of this conference toward
increasing understanding, and equality between different sexes, and between
other minorities as well.

In a way, every person is a minority against 'the silent majority'; discussion
is a way to join forces so that each of us can be recognized as *who* we
individually are, rather then *what* we collectively are.

    Well, VADER::SYSTEM hasn't explicitly identified itself. I guess
    ya gotta open the conference and SHOW MEMBER. Three conferences
    have been announced: members only for women, members only for
    men and open membership for interaction between folks. I interpret
    this as some folks(person) isn't happy with womennotes, mennotes
    and h&r and started their conferences to compete. Whatever the
    traffic will bear, I guess.
