| I would tenaciously fight for a good review and then start looking for
another job. People like that don't deserve to have someone of my
caliber working for them.

| As in .1, but go with all the paperwork you can find: completed
projects, interim status reports on projects, completed reports
on projects, original job descriptions. Anything you can find that
establishes your performance to be professional, competent, and
more than adequate. Try to get them to admit they offered you the
"cookies." Discuss with you PSA first, though, and demand
confidentiality at that stage. Then, if they still grade you down,
insist that they show you the criteria on which they base their low
opinion. If it is an obvious screw job, go back to your PSA and
mabe get some heat on them from their supervisors. STAY IN CHANNELS!!!
Cover your ass, start looking for another job, be ready to
ride out the storm, stand up for yourself.
I'd be very careful about the sex descrimination approach: this
is an extremely powerful accusation (rightly so, I feel) but
if you can't prove it, don't use it. That charge may well put their
careers on the line and their backs to the wall: beware a cornered
tiger.
Good luck.

re: .0
How much do you like the job ?
If the job is not what you thought it was going to be or at
least is going to carry on this way for the foreseeable future,
I would immediatly start looking elsewhere. The review is an important
aspect but if it is that unfair, a discussion with a Senior Manager
should redress that problem and full explanantion at subsequent
interviews (provided the explanation is factual and not emotional)
should see a satisfactory solution. Most Managers understand that
an incorrect environment will produce results below both expectation
and ability.
be lucky,
Steve

If I were in your position I would advise "A friend of mine" as
follows:
Leave the company you are working for and join DIGITAL, because
things like that just don't happen here.

304.9 | Another case of discrimination within DEC | SSDEVO::YOUNGER | I haven't lost my mind - it's Backed-up on tape somewhere | Wed Jul 01 1987 20:10 | 14 |
| I know of another such csae within DEC.
This woman was training people who are above her in job classification.
Her supervisors continually gave her "Fails to meet job requirements"
reviews, in spite of her doing (she claims) everything they tell
her to do. She has gotten nothing from personel, and took it to
top level management. Still nothing until she went to the state
board of civil rights. Then, mysteriously, she got a promotion
and a salary increase of the level 'double your salary today!'.
Now she is looking for another job where they will treat her fairly.
